What else is changing?
COVID-19
From 1st April 2022 free testing will end; however, limited ongoing testing will be made available for some groups, including social care staff.
In April we expect further guidance from the Government setting out the ongoing steps that people with COVID-19 should take to minimise their contact with others
Don’t forget that from 24th March 2022 the COVID-19 provisions within Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) will cease.
Employment law
There are changes that we are still anticipating, but we don’t have full details or implementation dates yet. These include:
- Right-to-work checks – The government introduced a digital scheme as a part of the response to COVID-19 and we anticipate this will become a permanent change at some point within the next year.
- Flexible working – The government is considering the option to allow employees to request flexible working from day one of employment
