Benchmarking salaries against the market can be critical to ensure your social sector organisation can attract and retain key talent.
Salary benchmarking can be undertaken by itself, or it may be a key step within a wider pay and benefits project.
Salary benchmarking is a way to evaluate and compare pay levels against sector standards and market trends. This essential tool can enable social sector organisations to make informed decisions about their salary structures, ensuring they remain competitive in attracting and retaining top talent.
Salary benchmarking is a crucial practice for social sector organisations aiming to remain competitive, attract top talent, and ensure fair and equitable pay and reward.
It can also be a helpful tool in retention of your existing workforce and provide valuable data for strategic planning.
Our typical approach to salary benchmarking is to first understand your organisation in terms of subsector within the social sector, organisation size (turnover and number of employees), geographic location and reach and other key parameters.
Following receipt of the job descriptions for the roles, we will undertake the salary benchmark against comparable job roles within the agreed organisational parameters.
You will receive a report on the outcome of your salary benchmarking which will set out, per role, the parameters used, the benchmarking outcomes and our recommendations.
All work will be scoped with you and a proposal is provided for your review and approval.
